Every Mowd seasonal delivery contains carefully selected, 100% granular lawn treatments chosen specifically for that time of year. Here's exactly what you receive — and why each treatment matters.
View Plans & Pricing How It WorksProfessional-grade lawn treatments in a simple format
All Mowd treatments are granular — the same format used by professional lawn care teams on golf courses, cricket pitches, and sports grounds across the UK. Granular products are easy to measure, apply evenly with a spreader (or by hand), and work gradually over the full season.
There's nothing to mix, no liquids to handle, and no specialist knowledge required. Just open the bag, spread, and water in.

🌱 Spring Box
Spring Lawn Fertiliser
Spring is the most important feeding window of the year. After winter dormancy, your lawn needs a significant dose of nitrogen to kickstart growth and repair any damage from frost, moss or wet conditions. Our spring formula is deliberately nitrogen-rich to fuel vigorous, healthy top growth while also supplying the secondary nutrients needed for strong root development.
The granular slow-release format means the fertiliser works gradually over the full season — not a single flush of growth that quickly runs out and leaves the lawn hungry again. One application sustains your lawn through the entire spring growing period.
Soil Improver
A lawn is only as good as the soil it grows in. Our granular soil improver adds organic matter and beneficial microorganisms to your lawn's soil, improving both structure and fertility. In heavy clay soils it improves drainage; in lighter sandy soils it helps retain moisture and nutrients. Either way, your grass roots have a better environment in which to develop — which means healthier, denser grass above ground.
Applying soil improver in spring prepares the soil for the growing season ahead. The results aren't always visible immediately, but over successive applications you'll notice significantly improved grass density and resilience.
☀️ Summer Box
Summer Lawn Fertiliser
Summer lawn feeding is a balancing act. Your lawn still needs nutrients to stay green and healthy, but too much nitrogen in warm weather promotes soft, weak growth that's vulnerable to drought and disease. Our summer fertiliser is a balanced formula — delivering the nutrients your lawn needs without pushing excessive leafy growth.
The focus in summer is resilience: keeping your grass roots deep, maintaining even colour, and helping the lawn cope with heat and light drought. Our slow-release granular formula does this over the full summer season without the risk of scorching or over-stimulation.
Wetting Agent
One of the most frustrating summer lawn problems is dry patches — brown, parched areas that appear even when you water regularly. This happens because the soil surface develops a waxy hydrophobic layer that actually repels water, preventing it from reaching the roots. You can water all day and the moisture never penetrates where it's needed.
Our granular wetting agent breaks down this hydrophobic layer and dramatically improves the soil's ability to absorb and distribute water evenly. Applied in late spring (with your summer delivery), it works through the entire summer period — reducing dry patches, improving water efficiency, and helping your lawn stay greener for longer during dry spells.
🍂 Autumn Box
Autumn Lawn Fertiliser
Autumn feeding is fundamentally different from spring and summer. The goal shifts from promoting growth to toughening the grass plant — building robust roots and strengthening the cell structure so the lawn can withstand the cold, wet and frost of the coming winter.
Our autumn fertiliser is specifically formulated with significantly reduced nitrogen and elevated potassium and phosphorus. Potassium hardens the grass plant and improves cold tolerance; phosphorus supports deep root development. The result is a lawn that goes into winter well-nourished and in the best possible condition to recover quickly come spring.
Soil Improver
After a long summer of foot traffic, heat, and intensive feeding, your lawn's soil structure needs attention. Autumn is the ideal time to apply soil improver, giving it the winter months to work into the soil and begin rebuilding organic matter, microbial activity and structure ready for the spring growing season.
Autumn soil improver applications are particularly beneficial if your lawn has suffered from compaction, heavy wear, or poor drainage over summer. The organic matter helps open up the soil profile and restores the biology that supports healthy grass growth.
❄️ Winter Box
Winter Lawn Fertiliser
Lawns don't stop needing nutrients in winter — they just need them in a different form. Applying heavy nitrogen in cold weather promotes soft, vulnerable growth that's prone to frost damage and disease. Our winter formula uses a very low, slow-release nitrogen content combined with micronutrients that support root health without stimulating leaf growth.
Think of it as a winter tonic — keeping the root system active and nourished during the cold months, so your lawn has a strong foundation and bounces back faster when spring arrives.
Iron Sulphate
Iron sulphate is one of the most powerful and multi-purpose treatments available for home lawn care. It's widely used on professional sports turf for very good reason — and in our granular form, it's now accessible and easy to apply at home.
Applied in winter, iron sulphate does three important things. First, it hardens the grass plant, improving its resistance to frost, disease, and wear through the coldest months. Second, it dramatically suppresses and kills moss — one of the most common winter lawn problems. Third, it produces a striking dark green colour that makes your lawn look better even in the depths of winter. This aesthetic effect fades as the moss breaks down, but the underlying benefits last through the season.
How to apply your Mowd treatments
Every delivery includes a simple application guide. Here's the general approach — the same for all Mowd granular products.
Equipment needed
- A garden spreader (broadcast or drop type) for best results
- Alternatively, gloves and a bucket for hand spreading smaller areas
- A garden hose or watering can (to water in after application)
Step-by-step
- 1Mow your lawn a day or two before applying (not immediately before)
- 2Weigh out the correct amount for your lawn size (see bag guidance)
- 3Apply evenly across the whole lawn using a spreader or by hand
- 4Water in lightly after application (or apply before expected rainfall)
- 5Keep children and pets off the lawn until the granules have dissolved
Tips for best results
- Apply on a calm, dry day — avoid windy conditions that can cause uneven spread
- Don't apply to frozen or waterlogged ground
- Overlap passes slightly to avoid missed strips
- Check ground temperature is appropriate before applying (guidance on each bag)
- For Seasons Plus deliveries, you can apply both treatments on the same day
