Product Detail

Reduce Worm Casts!
Non-pesticidal, encourages worms away from surface

A non-pesticidal, plant nutrient based liquid that improves turf health and encourages casting worms away from sward surface, thus reducing surface casts.
In the past various products have been used to help reduce worm casts on the surface of fine turf; many of these have been known pesticides, others damaging to the environment, now we have the alternative: Angus Downcast™

  • Helps root zone structure by encouraging worm activity well below the sward surface
  • Contains low levels of nitrogen (N), sulphur (S) and iron (Fe)
  • Rapid plant green up
  • No growth flushes as a consequence of using Angus Downcast at recommended rates
  • Huge reduction in worm cast production on sward surface
  • Low scorch potential
  • Easily applied through standard spray equipment
  • Increases stress tolerance within the plant
  • Contains spray indicator dye
  • Encourages chlorophyll production within the leaf
  • For use on any grass surface where worm casts cause a problem

Angus Downcast™ is a soil amendment and not a fertiliser and it should always be used as part of a standard fertility program.

FAQs

Q: Will Downcast get rid of the worms in my lawn?

A: Downcast wont get ride of the worms, but it will encourage them sub surface where they wont disrupt the surface with their casts. Worms are great for the soil, so Downcast is a worm treatment that keeps the worms sub surface.

Q: How long does this worm treatment last?

A: On normal lawns and pitches, Downcast can keep the worms away from the surface a month or so. Some heavy infestations of worms and worm casts may require fortnightly treatments.

Q: Does Downcast hurt the worms?

A: No - Downcast simply encourages the worms away from the surface and does not kill the worms.

Q: Is Down cast a worm repellent?

A: Yes - it will encourage the worms away from the surface to actively reduce the amount of worm casts you get.

Q: How do I get ride of worms?

A: We always recommend mechanical means to get rid of the worm casts first. Using brushes and switch pole is a great way to disperse the casts before mowing. However, some infestations are really severe, or its not practical to brush the area each day. In this case Downcast can be applied to encourage the worms away from the surface and prevent worm casts.
